While LeBron James is one of the greatest players in the NBA’s history, he cannot be considered the greatest of all time. After all, he’s not the player with the most championships. Considering that others like Michael Jordan have six rings and much more impressive success and widespread admiration should prove as much. Given this situation, it can be said it’s almost impossible for him to achieve Jordan’s legacy.
Another reason why LeBron is not the GOAT is his record in the finals. While he has won multiple times and has played plenty of finals, he hasn’t achieved his best performances in these instances. This is one of the main issues critics point out about LeBron, claiming that the fact that he hasn’t shown consistency in the finals will inevitably harm his legacy.
Additionally, while it is a fact that LeBron has amassed plenty of individual accolades, including All-Star appearances and even some MVP awards, other NBA players have gained more individual accomplishments. Of course, this only means other stars can be considered better players than LeBron.
Finally, LeBron’s overall impact on the NBA is not the greatest in the history of this sport. While it’s a fact he has made a huge impact on the basketball world and has delivered some historic performances that will never be forgotten, some other players had a more profound impact on the game. The greatest example is Michael Jordan, who became a legend and cultural icon, turning himself into a brand and reaching a global popularity that no other athlete has ever conquered. LeBron James is a superstar that we all should enjoy. However, there have been better players than him.
